Choosing your boxing gloves

As a general guide, 10–14 oz gloves are used for bag and pad work and 14–16 oz for sparring; most gyms ask for 16 oz when sparring. Kids and juniors usually train in 6–8 oz. Always check your gym's or coach's rules, and wear hand wraps under your gloves. More in the size guide.
